About the Role

The Cherokee Housekeeper/ EVS Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization standards established by Wellness Cleaning in various environments ensuring that designated areas are pristine, and creates a welcoming environment for guests.

Essential responsibilities will include the following, and other duties may be assigned.

Sanitation Duties:

  • Implements safe work practices by wearing protective equipment and adhering to SDS and OSHA standards for safe chemical handling and usage.

  • Reports all bio-harzards and room damages to inspector / supervisor.

  • Collaborates with team members to clean guestrooms efficiently and in the established time frames for hospitality service. The cleaning must be thoroughly detailed and follow the Wellness Cleaning quality standards.

  • Performs regular cleaning of public spaces, including lobbies, entrances, gaming floors, and restrooms. Ensures all public areas are free from debris and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness.

  • Makes beds, sweeps, mops, vacuums, dusts, wipes down surfaces, disposes of trash and replaces bag liners. Monitors and addresses spills promptly to prevent slip hazards.

  • Cleans behind appliances and all room furniture.

  • Cleans bathrooms, scrubs basins, bathtubs, shower walls and doors, toilets, and tile using appropriate equipment and chemicals. Places clean bathmats on tubs or shower doors.

  • Reports to the team lead unusual or unsatisfactory room conditions requiring repair while replenishing guest amenities as needed.

  • Removes and transports dirty linens and restocks towel racks with clean towels.

  • Ensures overall guest satisfaction by completing duties per the room classification checklist and performing additional housekeeping attendant duties as needed.

  • Wipes down and cleans gaming machines, slot chairs, and other casino equipment. Ensures gaming machines are free from dust and debris.

  • Coordinates with other EVS team members to ensure continuous coverage and cleanliness. Reports any maintenance or repairs needs to supervisors promptly.


Guest Room Maintenance Duties:

  • Adheres to client security protocols by blocking room with houskeeping cart for safety and locking doors upon exit.

  • Notifies inspector / supervisor of concerning need for major repairs and advises on suggestions for additions or improvements to guest hallways, elevators and guest rooms.

  • Requisitions to inspector / supervisor for supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

  • Moves heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies manually, with a partner, or using hand trucks.

  • Promptly reports lost and found items to support prompt guest recovery.


Laundering Duties:

  • Sorts and pre-treats laundry items based on color, fabric, and type. Inspects items for stains and damages before laundering.


  • Operates washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment following established procedures. Ensures machines are properly loaded and unloaded to maximize efficiency.


  • Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the laundry area and ensures that waste and lint are disposed of in accordance with safety guidelines.


  • Folds, presses, and irons laundered items as needed and ensures that proper folding techniques are employed to maintain a neat appearance.


  • Monitors and maintains appropriate levels of linen inventory. Reports shortages or damages to the supervisor.


  • Inspects laundered items to ensure quality standards. Reports any issues or defects to the supervisor.


  • Follows safety protocols and guidelines when handling laundry chemicals including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.


  • Communicates effectively and coordinates with other staff members to ensure timely delivery of clean laundry.


Other Duties:

  • Provides excellent customer service by assisting guests with inquiries and directions. Addresses customer concerns or requests related to cleanliness.

Qualifications:

Successful individuals who perform the responsibilities of this position must perform their essential duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and abilities required.   • Education:

    • Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent in

      work experience or vocational training.

  • Experience:

    • Required: Three months to one year related experience in housekeeping or an EVS role.

  • Language Skills: Must possess the ability to read a limited number of two - and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

  • Mathematical Skills: Must have the ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Performs operations using American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance units.

  • Reasoning Ability: Must possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions while dealing with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

  • Computer Skills: Must have knowledge of Internet software and Microsoft Suite of Products.
